Fall Farm Photoshoot

Sunday, October 27th

Greetings all!

The colours are in full bloom at the farm and we thought it would be a great time to take advantage of the very talented local photographer Golden Cannon Photography to offer sunrise, sunset, riding portraits, liberty shots, and more this Sunday, October 27th! Dogs are welcome in the photos also.

The shoot will be $130 and can take place at the time of your preference (eg. sunrise, sunset, during the day, all of the above etc). Riders may take photos with the horse of their choosing (pending owner approval) please RSVP to confirm by Friday October 25th if this is something you are interested in.

For any young Equine enthusiast who would like photographs (under 18) please make sure to give us enough time with signing up so that we can have a waiver ready for you!

I have attached below some example shots of when she was at the farm last taking photographs of local rider Amelie Villeneuve. The photographer is a young rider in school herself so please let’s support her passion while allowing her to capture ours.

Looking forward to a great day of fun photos with fabulous people (Maybe sporting new boots from the day before) 😉

Recreational Riding Program & Summer Camps

Starting January 5th, 2019

The end of 2018 is fast approaching and with it comes planning for 2019.

Below is a link to the Recreational riding packages available for the coming year in addition to the weeks of summer camp. We are constantly changing and growing according to our client needs and this summer we are going to try something new. We will be running camps for June/July, then offering a month long recreational riding package for August.

In addition, to close up this year, we will be doing a fun day this Saturday of Hacking and Hot Chocolate (we will sub this out for pony games if for some reason we are unable to hack). We will offer ride times at 10, 11, 12, and 1 for anyone interested in participating. Kamille and I will host a beginner hack, and more advanced hack every hour. There are four spots available at every time on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to join us, please let me know how many, what time, and which level of group you would like to participate in.

If you are unable to attend this Saturday, no worries! we will see you in the new year, and look forward to hearing about the holidays.

Best regards,

Another beautiful day for riding…

On behalf of the Becke family who call Venturing Hills Farm their home and the team who operate the Venturing Hills Equine Training Center, I welcome you to one of the most beautiful farms of the Pontiac.  We are 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa and offer excellence in every aspect of equine care and equestrian endeavour.

Venturing Hills Farm backs onto the Eardley Escarpment of the Gatineau Park at Luskville, Quebec. Formerly known as “Farm of the Mountain”, the facility provides:

  • access to hundreds of acres of land, including open fields and trails
  • indoor arena
  • cross-country courses
  • permanent hunter course on 40 year old turf
  • a full set of show jumps
  • large stone dust and sand ring
  • fenced sand ring for novice horses and riders
  • large grass paddocks
  • riding instruction available in French or English

The Training Center caters to all levels and ages of rider and is dedicated to the enjoyment of horses by supporting all aspects of equestrian sport. Individually tailored care and training programs for horses and riders support both leisure riding and the challenges of competition.

Our boarding service offers 24/7 on-site care with a team of expert vets and farriers on regular call. People new to the sport are also welcomed by our certified instructors and well trained horses and ponies. Our select school-ponies and horses are especially appreciated by kids and parents alike. With eager children we focus on Equine Canada's Learning to Ride fundamentals which emphasizes safe fun, but we encourage self expression in the stimulating and challenging environment of the farm and training center. With North American coaching and equitation principles, for most riders and horses, we focus on the European principles of cross-training, in all three Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Jumping and Cross Country riding. We are also happy to arrange part or full leases as options for owners and non-owners, for pleasure and/or competitive riding purposes. Finally, on an individually contracted basis, we do agent the sale and purchase of animals for our clients.

If you need any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through the web site or please call the stable at 613.863.4598.
